Country Roads

Taken about 12 years ago in Beddgelert, the track is a disused railway line and I am pictured her with my late dog Bobbi.
We live just off Darland Lane which is where this car is situated in the picture. The main Chester Road runs across it with the old filling station dated 1796 at the back.

Out on our hack with Cola we met a Dalmation with his owner on a bike! Dalmations were bred as coach horses so I suppose there is no better way to exercise them in these modern times.

Jason leading Joe on Cola over the small bridge that runs over the River Alyn in Rossett.

Some of the back lanes we ride regularly.

Your Favourite Colour

I like lots of colours for different reasons; I like blue because it reminds me of blue skies and cornflowers. I like yellow for sunshine and sunflowers and green for the colour of grass. However, if I were to single just one colour out, it would have to be RED. Above is a picture of my two boys in the sea at Llandudno. They look so lovely in their red coats and Harry's red wellies!
"come roll out the red carpet, come bugler sound his horn, for the heroe is returning, we're gonna welcome him to his home....." This picture was taken when Her Majesty the Queen visited Wrexham to open the new Techniquest Centre. Jason was on the search team party at this visit making sure there were no terrorist attacks. I loved that day, seeing Mike Peters play, meeting him, meeting the Queen and Prince Philip.

I love my RED Mini Cooper as well - it certainly DOES rock!

I like to wear red nail polish and red lipstick. I think wearing red gives me confidence, it makes me feel good, it gives me the power to go out and face bad things.

I always think of Father Christmas wearing his red tunic and all the lovely feelings associated with that time of year. Red berries on holly, christmas decorations, Turkey with all the trimmings.....

Harry wearing a red turban. This was my favourite head scarf because it helped me to feel good about myself when I felt so bad.
So my favourite colour is RED!

Wrought Iron

One of the cannons at Plas Newydd house on Anglesea, I am not sure if it is made from wrought iron!
Kissing gates at Erddig Hall, really old and really sweet.

The back entrance gates into Erddig Hall.
Wrexham is well known for its mineral richness, that is coal and iron. Bersham Ironworks is a heritage centre now and there is evidence of romans mining for iron here.

Rememberance

Wow what a great shoot out topic!

I have so many pictures I would love to share but I have selected those which mean the most.
The above photo is of my family, in particular my big brother Peter Geraint Kyffin at his "passing out" parade in Ryton, England. Peter was 18 in this photo and shortly after it was taken he was policing the famous "minors riots"

These are just some of the floral tributes for Peter when he died on 10th September 1990 after a car accident. Mine is the heart in the centre.

Peters grave stone. His ashes are interred here in Gresford Parish Church were he was married, where I was married and where my first son was christened. Its a lovely spot with Yew trees and visiting squirrels. He would have liked that! He was a wonderful big brother. Yes we had our squabbles and arguments, he was a terrible teaser but if anyone said or did something to hurt me he would be down on them like a ton of bricks. When he died I felt as though my arms had been cut off, a part of me was gone.

This is a picture of me and my best friend Karen Scott in my garden when we were about 9 or 10. Sadly, Karen died when she was 17 after a car crash. I really miss her.

My first pony Shilo - my soul mate.
He really was my soul mate too, we formed a bond which was unique. I think about him all of the time, even more so now that we have Cola as Cola reminds me of him so much.

My horse Mac who died a few years ago, he was a gentle giant. We parted ways following the birth of my eldest son. I will always remember him with love and fondness.

Anniversary my favourite theme - Domestic Animals

Sorry for my late participation but Ghost Hunts and horses have gotten in the way somehow.

For the 1st anniversary I have chosen my topic as Domesticated Animals because animals are my life.

I have started off with a picture of Penny aged 2 1/2 a Russion Dwarf Hamster belonging to my son Harry. Sadly, Penny died on Friday. He has left a big gap in our lives.

This is Elsa one of my 8 guineapigs. She lives inside the house now because she lost quite alot of weight half way through winter.
Pickles, my miniature schnauzer bitch who is 6 years old with her clip.

Wilbur my 2 year old miniature schnauzer.

Snowdrop one of the older guineas.

Polly one of my rescue guineas.

The latest addition to our family - Cola!

Town Plazas

this was a difficult topic for me this week because I have been so busy so I was unable to go out and grab some shots. I live in the village of Rossett which is part of the town of Wrexham (Wrecsam) in North Wales. The above picture whilst not a plaza, is one of the main streets of the town centre.
The library is situated in the town centre, it was built in the 1970's and this strange head can be seen sticking out of the gardens.

Not from my town but Edinburgh, Scotland - Greyfriars Bobby!

My Swiss Italian friends pretending to beg on the main high street of Wrexham town.

Circles

Where has this week gone?

phew! sorry I am late with my submission and I have had to quickly scan my archives but this week has been so busy! I spent most of yesterday travelling the country to look at a pony. The above circle is a monument to the Royal Welch Fusiliers who served in the Far East. This is in Wrexham town near to the police station.

My pandora bracelet is a circle made up of lots of circles.

My temporary wedding ring until my fingers stop swelling and I can wear my own!
